The Man Who Screwed Up

Senza dubbio The Economist è un settimanale autorevole ed una fonte affidabile di notizie di cronaca, economia, politica, affari e finanza.
Ho cercato di leggerlo più volte, ma dopo un paio di pagine la sonnolenza l'ha sempre avuta vinta.
Senza ombra di dubbio la rivista si rivolge ad un pubblico di lettori d'élite, influenti uomini d'affari e politici. Infatti, non a caso, non ne faccio parte.
Quando lavoravo al Gruppo Food a Milano acquistavamo da The Economist Group alcuni contenuti, per cui lo vedevo ogni settimana tra le altre riviste. Mi fissava.
Riuscivo a leggere soltanto un paio di articoli. Nel tempo libero sono tuttora più attratta da un quotidiano, da un buon libro o da un ammiccante numero di Vanity Fair.

Questa settimana ho comprato The Economist e mi sono letta tutto lo speciale.

Lo speciale si intitola: "The Man Who Screwed Up a Country" ed il man in questione é naturalmente Berlusconi.
"What do the following countries have in common: Madagascar, Bahamas, Kiribati, Togo, Brunei, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Central African republic, Haiti, Cote D'Îvoire, Liberia, Eritrea and Zimbabwue? Their Economies all performed worse then Italy's over the the past decade in terms of growth per person. This is not the sort of company that Italy is accustomed to keeping, but unless it can shake off its torpor it may have get used to such unflattering comparisons."
